Yeah, I know, it has been a while.

I was on a blogging roll and then after a few weeks I fell of the wagon. After some encouragement from some other athletes, I've decided to start again. My goal will be 1-2 posts per week.

As of now I am currently ranked 18th out of 600+ in the SoCal Sectional for the 2011 Reebok CrossFit Games. This qualifies me to move on to the Southwest Regionals on June 17th-19th at Cal State Long Beach. I am very happy with my ranking and feel I have improved tremendously compared to last year. My overall goal was to place in the top 30 and I did that, my new goal is to place in the top 50% at Regionals.

I don't really know how I feel about this new six week online Sectional format. I realize that in order to maximize participation CrossFit HQ needed to "cast a bigger net". My only hope is that it wasn't at the cost of movement standards and people's integrity.

Yet it was fun having most of our team gathered around the computer at our gym, CrossFit Mission Gorge, every Tuesday around 4:55 pm waiting for the workout to be released. We would all watch the briefing from Tony Budding and start game-planning right there. Overall, within our facility, it was a good time. Most of our team met every Saturday at 10:30 am and went through the workout. We even had spectators there cheering us on and helping validate people's workouts.

I'd like to thank Team CFMG for all their hard work over the course of the 2011 CrossFit Sectional. Most of you haven't been CrossFitting for more than a year and you all preformed well. Please know, even if you didn't place high in the rankings, there are many others out there that could not have done a fraction of what you all went through. I am very proud of you all!
