Restoration

I've been feeling slightly "drained" the past two weeks. After competing in the SoCal Sectional Finals, which I probably could have passed on, I felt I needed to pull the reins back a bit. My focus this week is strength training.

Yesterday, I did some thrusters (6/6/4/4/4), Back Squats (8/8/8/8/8), and some weighted sit-ups (10/10/10/10). It felt good to take my time and not "stress" my body with met-con work. Today I will rest again and on Thursday I'll go through some pressing variations. Come Saturday I will resume met-con training, but only if I feel rested.



As I prep for regionals I will continue with 2-3x per week of strength training and will throw in two training sessions on Saturdays and Sundays to prepare for the volume of Regionals, being careful not to over-do-it. I will be working with Coach Geo Rockwell and Coach Dawn Fletcher to map out a good plan of attack.

I've begun to tighten my nutrition up and I am going to focus more on recovery, both of which I didn't focus much on during the Sectionals. As I stated in my last post, my goal is to be ranked in the top 50% once Regionals is over.
