Training Alone and First Oly. Comp.

It has been discussed before, but training alone sucks!  For me personally I enjoy having people around me doing the same workout. It pushes me because it puts some pressure on me to not fall behind.

It's always better to train with a group!

I trained alone yesterday and though my time on the WOD at CFMG was good, 3:50 Rx'd, it definitely could have been better. The 135# shoulder to overhead felt like 185#. Excuses, excuses, excuses! I know, but you can't sit there and tell me you could improve your performance if you constantly trained by yourself. I'll stop beating the dead horse :).

This Saturday I'll be lifting in my first Olympic Weightlifting comp. Though Olympic Weightlifting is part of my training and CrossFit training in general, it is definitely not my sport. What's the saying, "practice and play new sports"?  I guess this could be an example of that.

Come cheer us on!

I'm not really nervous. My goal is to make all my lifts, and if I hit a new PR or two that will be an added bonus. Both my lifts have not received the most attention due to my participation in the CrossFit Open and my preparation for regionals, but this will be a fun event and experience. Here is some insight into what I'm working with:

My bodyweight is approx. 82 kg
First attempt for snatch: 81 kg
First attempt for clean and jerk: 111 kg
