Training Day (3/6/11) and Training Day (3/7/11)

I started to get the "training itch" around 4pm on Friday (3/4). I watched Coach Geo go through his 30 M.U.s for time. I also coached the evening classes at CFMG, and I was getting fired up watching our athletes train.

On Saturday morning, my last day of rest, I decided to give 30 M.U.s a try. Yes, I realize this was supposed to be a rest day, sue me. I felt good and rested, plus I have never attempted 30 M.U.s for time. I had no idea what to expect but I set a sub 5 min goal. I knew I needed to maintain a powerful kip, something that started to diminish as I fatigued, because I do not use the false grip. I ended up missing 4 reps and lost my kip later on during the workout. I know that next time I attempt this WOD I'll get sub 5 min.

There is about 1 more week before the CrossFit Open Sectional starts. I feel confident in my abilities to reach the Southwest Regionals again this year. This week's focus will be keeping my diet "clean" and to continue getting plenty of rest.

We have also begun remodeling CFMG. Project #1 is painting the gym. We are also planning on tiling the bathrooms and we will also be applying new epoxy to the gym floors.
