After my training on 3/9 I was pretty wreaked. My legs, mainly my hamstrings, were fried. I recovered on 3/10. Went through my usual routine of stretching, mobility work, and foam rolling. On 3/11 I trained a bit and felt OK. Legs were still pretty shot, but I was pleased with my performance.
On Saturday morning, 3/12, I was feeling pretty good. We, CFMG, held our Second Annual Partner Challenge at Mission Trails Regional Park here in San Diego. Pretty much from 8am-noon I was coaching and judging all the athletes that participated.

CFMG Athletes Post Challenge |
At noon we began our final class for the day. Without any sort of mental prep or good warm-up, I decided just to jump in on the class. Anyway, to make a long story shut, my lack of preparation and/or planning must have really gotten to me. "3,2,1, go" happened and I shut down mentally. I had too much on my mind and was not focused on the task at hand. Has this ever happened to you?
Now I do feel we sometimes need to just "jump" right into things in order to be ready for the unknown and unknowable, but this just seemed like a bad time to push beyond that mental limit. CrossFit Games Season is starting here on Tuesday, and the last thing I need to do is kill myself mentally or physically.
