Training Day #5 (2/27/11) and Recovery Day (2/28/11)

I hear and read a lot about how facilities have "state-of-the-art equipment" or X amount of this and/or that, and you know what that's great. Having an awesome looking facility with a ton of equipment and gear is important. However, what I want you all to know is that all that stuff isn't important if it is not being used correctly. What really matters is the programming and/or the program you follow.

Anyone can buy fitness equipment, anyone can put a bunch of exercises together into a workout, but what is really going to make you better is some intelligent program design.

Coaches and athletes I urge you to have plan. What would you like the end result of your programming to be? Keeping in mind the constantly varied and functional movements, mix in a little periodization and develop a fixed route rather then a random route to achieving your goals or making progress.

"It's not your equipment that makes you state-of-the-art, it's your programming and how you use that equipment." - Coach Ian McHugh
